At Godofprompt, we sat down with Hooroo Jackson, a trailblazer in AI-generated filmmaking and the director of DreadClub: Vampire’s Verdict, both the first AI animated feature film with 100% sound, music, video, and performances made entirely with AI tools, and the first AI anime feature film.
In this interview, he walks us through the creative process, the tools involved in making an AI anime film, and the exciting potential AI holds for the future of cinema.

I'm Hooroo Jackson, a filmmaker working at the intersection of technology and storytelling.
My most recent film, DreadClub: Vampire's Verdict, is a completely AI made animated feature using a wide range of AI tools.
My focus is on exploring the creative possibilities of AI and how it can expand access and opportunity for independent filmmakers.
The production spanned about six months.
During that time, I was fully immersed in the world of the film, developing characters, shaping the story, and building every scene.
It was an intensely creative period, where each day brought new discoveries and challenges. In a world of IPs, I was deeply committed to crafting an original film.
AI offers a new way to realize creative visions in cinema, particularly for independent filmmakers.
It also creates opportunities for experimentation and storytelling that weren’t practical before due to budgets and resource constraints.
DreadClub is a supernatural mystery centered around a college student entangled in a legal investigation involving a student, Duchamps De Ve, and accusations made against him of being a vampire.
The film blends courtroom drama with classic visual storytelling.
The goal was both to entertain while also exploring timeless themes.
Anyone can enjoy it regardless of whether or not they know it's AI.
I’m currently developing several film projects using AI tools.
Each new film allows me to explore different genres and different visual styles while pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with AI technology.
